Question:
Hi Kishana, I'm a busy mom of three little ones under the age of 5. I shuffle my time between daycare & play dates. As an avid reader of Tres Chic Style, I a always inspired by your sense of style and ability to juggle the many challenges of motherhood and still keep it all together, Please Help with any tips on where I can affordability or what I can buy to still look stylish while schlepping the kids around.

Answer:
Tanya, first and foremost develop your very own personal sense of style. The most important tool to practice is reality shopping. This is when you master the ability to dress for who you are physically, emotionally and financially at this point in your life. Busy mom's who shuffle the kids from play dates and soccer practice can still look chic and stylish.
Here's a few tips to get you started......
Since you may be chasing the baby around the house (or the mall's like me), opt for a comfortable dark pant that will disguise that sippy cup spill. Make sure the fabric is breathable with a lil' spandex to conform to your body type and shape. Chino's work for many, but my personal favorite is a soft denim pant. They're cute and give you the feel of jeans but with the chic look of a slack. Try the 7th Avenue Indigo Pant from NY & Company, $39.95.
When all else fails, a chic Tee is my favorite wardrobe staple. Tees with lycra provide a sexy fit and work well with anything. Gap, $9.99-$19.99.
Invest in great outerwear......You can actually leave the house in that soiled T and pajama pants and cover it up with a great coat. While this Laundry by Shelli Segal trench may not be practical for life with the kids...it is so damn hot!!! Nordstrom, $138.
Since affordability is key, and you may need a tote large enough to tote toys, diapers, agendas and some snacks. You can be practical and stylish at the same time with this Safari-inspired Raffia Tote. The roomy interior lets you tote everything with ease, Available in 4 Patterns, Old Navy, $8.99
Nothing completes a look like a fabulous pair of Sunglasses.......
Sunglasses are now the ultimate fashion accessory. No time for make-up in the morning or do those 3am feedings have your eyes a little puffy??? Snag the season's hottest frames and get your Jackie O glam on......
Last but not least, my favorite obsession, Shoes........While I hit the playground/schoolyard in stiletto's all day every day (No apologies...), Realistic busy mom's may prefer comfort. These Sam Edelman Honey Flats in Leopard ($65) are simply divine. You can get these darlings at Tres Chic Boutique and we'll even waive the shipping if you mention Code: Mommy
*Currently we have a limited stock of size 8,8.5 & 10
As a busy mom, trips to the mall may be out of the question, but rest assured there are great retailers on-line to keep you stylish. And if all else fails, let Tres Chic Image Consulting get it together for you!
Happy Shopping.......
