Olympic Gold Medalist Evan Lysacek Designs for Charity...
The other night Tres Chic Style had the opportunity to meet Olympic Gold Medalist Evan Lysacek at a benefit for Habitat for Humanity sponsored by Ferrero Chocolates. In addition to his many talents(skating, Dancing With the Stars), Evan is trying his hand at designing and close friend Vera Wang was on hand to celebrate this new venture with him.
Vera and Evan are collaborating on a menswear line and designed one womenswear item, a gorgeous chocolate and gold gown inspired by the Ferrero Rocher Chocolate packaging.
The event was held atop Rockefeller Center, the perfect back drop for this magical winter event. Editors, supporters and New York's elite circle gathered to share this special moment with Evan.
Evan chatted with Tres Chic Style about the new line and shared his excitement for his next chapter in his life.
How did you decide to work with Habitat for Humanity?
I've always loved fashion and I love supporting great causes. I admire what Habitat for Humanity does and just felt this would be a great way to be a part of it.
What's next for Evan Lysacek aside from fashion?
I'll be on the 25th Anniversary Smuckers Stars on Ice Tour in 2011. The tour travels to four countries, including; Japan, US, Mexico and Canada. Also I have a nutrition line slated to debut in early-mid 2011.
Tell us about your experience working with Vera Wang?
Watching Vera work and the effort that goes into designing was very inspiring. She has given me insight into a new world and inspired me to do a menswear line. In addition, I admire her style and how she's constantly
Side Note: Evan Lysacek's design is up for auction on the Rocher website with the proceeds benefitting Habitat for Humanity.
