Fashionista's Bid Farewell to Daytime's Style Icon All My Children...
Earlier this year the rumors surfaced regarding the impending demise of Daytime's beloved guilty pleasure All My Children. I along with a few million or so Fashionista's prayed it was just that...A Rumor!
Less than 24 hours ago ABC released a statement detailing that both All My Children and One Life to Live would be cancelled later this year and early next year. With All My Children bidding farewell in September and One Life to Live in January.
My earliest memories of All My Children stem from the age of 5 or 6. I can remember being captivated by the spirit, resilience and over-the-top style and beauty posessed by Erica Kane. She was my first "Barbie". While other little girls were home dreaming of owning a Malibu Dream House or Pink Corvette, I was sitting glued to the television during my summer vacations trying to figure out how to get to Pine Valley.
All My Children was my first foray into this vibrant world of fashion. From opening my own boutiqu patterned after the chic & fabulous "Glamorama" to my fierce and all be it compulsive at times obsession with the beauty industry as the direct result of Erica's successful cosmetics company Fusion.
All My Children inspired my dreams far beyond what was expected from a little girl growing up in Brooklyn. Aside from playing dress up in my mom's heels, All My Chikdren was my first professor in fashion and style.from sassy day ensembles to dramatic evening looks I was mesmerized. Today I look back on my 30+ year All My Children journey with a few tears accompanied with smiles.
